Who I am

Phil started his career with Mitchell, Williams, one of the largest law firms in Arkansas. He then became an in-house counsel for some of the largest companies in the United States, including Walmart Stores and The Home Depot. He has also served as General Counsel for Anthony Forest Products, Deltic Timber Corporation, and Teck American Incorporated.

In Phil’s 37 years as a corporate attorney, he learned how to analyze legal issues and develop practical, effective, and cost conscience solutions. Phil has always been known for his positive attitude, his enthusiasm, and his common-sense and pragmatic approach to legal issues.

After Phil retired in 2019, Phil began teaching advanced contract drafting and compliance at the University of Arkansas Law School. His goal was to train the future attorneys in Arkansas in the fine art of contract drafting and negotiation. He quickly realized that he was not finished with the law and believed he could add value to Northwest Arkansas businesses.
